Rafik Grigoryan is the visionary behind Sigma Law Group, serving as the firm's Founder, and Managing Partner. With a distinguished career in both academia and public service, Rafik brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the legal profession.
Holding an LL.B. and LL.M. from Yerevan State University, Rafik furthered his academic pursuits with a Ph.D. in Juridical Sciences in 2016. He has since authored a monograph on "The Regulation of Bonds in the Stock Market of the Republic of Armenia" and contributed approximately a dozen scientific articles to the field. His commitment to professional development has led him to participate in training and conferences across Europe, including in the United Kingdom, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, and Cyprus.
Rafik is an IMI Certified Mediation Advocate and has lent his expertise to the United Nations Development Program and the Council of Europe. His professional journey includes significant contributions as the First Deputy Minister of Justice of Armenia, where he played a pivotal role in the implementation of the Judicial and Legal Reform Strategy. His tenure saw numerous legislative reforms, including major amendments to the Judicial Code and laws concerning bankruptcy and fact-finding commissions, among others.
Prior to his government role, Rafik made substantial contributions at the Office of Financial System Mediator, initially as a case investigator and later as the head of the investigation group. His work in restoring customer rights and establishing legal precedents in the financial sector has been widely recognized. He also developed and taught an insurance law course at the university master's program level.
In 2021, Rafik established Sigma Law Group with the goal of leveraging his extensive knowledge and experience to protect individual rights and enhance the legal framework of Armenia. Under his leadership, Sigma Law Group aims to make significant contributions to both private and public law, fostering the development of legal regulations and improving the state-legal system in Armenia.

Pargev Saroyan
Pargev Saroyan joined Sigma Law Group as a partner in January 2023, bringing over a decade of experience in the legal field and extensive expertise in international law.
Pargev is a distinguished member of the Chamber of Advocates of the Republic of Armenia and has made significant contributions to the establishment and development of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in Armenia through his six-year tenure at the Financial System Mediator’s office.
Pargev’s legal career is marked by his involvement in various high-impact projects. As a consultant and expert for international organizations such as The World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, he has played a pivotal role in legal reforms, including the digitalization of justice services and judicial capacity building in Armenia. His work includes notable contributions to the Armenian Integrity Project funded by USAID and the development of the Cooperation Roadmap for The Country with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
In addition to his legal practice, Pargev is an accomplished academic. He has been teaching Municipal Law and Administrative Law at Yerevan State University for five years and has authored numerous scientific articles. His commitment to education and legal scholarship underscores his dedication to advancing the legal profession in Armenia.

Lilit Gabrielyan
Lilit Gabrielyan is a partner at Sigma Law Group with an extensive background in law, enriched by her academic journey as a Chevening Scholar. She holds a Master's degree in Law from the University of Exeter, UK, specializing in International Commercial Law, International Arbitration, Corporate Law and Governance, and Mergers and Acquisitions.
Before joining Sigma Law Group, Lilit served as the Head of the Case Investigation Group at the Office of the Financial System Mediator of Armenia. With nearly two decades of experience in jurisprudence, including 12 years in leadership roles in both private and public sectors, she has been a driving force in Alternative Dispute Resolution, particularly in mediation and arbitration. Her significant contributions have enhanced the legal frameworks concerning mediation in Armenia.
Throughout her career, Lilit has been deeply engaged in pivotal legal initiatives such as Justice Service Digitalization and the improvement of arbitration and mediation in Armenia. She has collaborated closely with esteemed institutions, including the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. Her work includes leading the digitalization of notarial and judicial systems in Armenia, advising on insolvency and bankruptcy law reforms, and supporting various legal projects for organizations such as the Council of Europe and USAID.
Lilit is also an International Mediation Institute (IMI) Certified Mediation Advocate and a certified mediator by the Ministry of Justice of Armenia. She holds a certification in international arbitration from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and is a listed arbitrator at the Arbitration and Mediation Center of Armenia (AMCA).

Junior Lawyer
Erik Manukyan
Erik Manukyan joined Sigma Law Group as a Junior Lawyer in December 2024. Currently in his fourth year at Yerevan State University’s Faculty of Law, Erik balances demanding academic pursuits with practical legal engagements.
His commitment to arbitration shines through his participation in the prestigious Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot competition. As a member of Yerevan State University’s team, Erik competed in the 31st edition in 2024 and is currently preparing for the 32nd edition, sharpening his expertise in international arbitration and commercial law.
Before joining Sigma Law Group, Erik worked as an expert at the RA Ministry of Defense’s Center for Human Rights and Integrity Building. In this role, he contributed to initiatives promoting human rights and institutional integrity, gaining valuable skills in legal analysis and policy development. Alongside his professional experience, Erik volunteers as a legal adviser at the Legal Clinic of YSU’s Faculty of Law. There, he provides free legal consultations, drafts legal documents, and supports vulnerable groups, reflecting his dedication to social justice and accessible legal services.

Associate Lawyer
Hermine Aslanyan
Hermine brings four years of valuable experience from the judicial system of the Republic of Armenia. She has had the privilege of working an Assistant to a Judge at the Administrative Chamber of the Cassation Court, an Assistant to a Judge at the Administrative Court of Appeal, and earlier as a Junior Specialist at the Legal Expertise Service of the Court of Cassation.
Her expertise in drafting judicial decisions, providing professional opinions on legislative drafts, and summarizing judicial practices has equipped her with strong skills in legal dispute resolution, research, case analysis and understanding the nuances of legislation.
Hermine holds a Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Constitutional Justice and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, both from Yerevan State University.
Hermine is pursuing a PhD at Yerevan State University, specializing in Theory and History of State and Law, History of State and Legal Doctrines. Her academic journey complements her professional work, enabling her to bridge research and practice effectively.
Currently she is a part of the Sigma Law Group, where she focuses on legal research, case analysis, and helping clients navigate complex legal issues.

Aharon Stepanyan
Aharon Stepanyan joined Sigma Law Group at the start of 2025, taking on the role of Senior Legal Associate.
Aharon studied at the Faculty of Law at Yerevan State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Law, and later completed a Master’s degree in Business Law with distinction from the same faculty.
With a wealth of experience in alternative dispute resolution and court representation, Aharon spent over six years at the Office of the Financial System Mediator, leading the team responsible for litigation cases.
In parallel, he teaches at the French University of Armenia, offering courses in "Civil Procedure" and "Legal Writing and Litigation Skills." Aharon is also a member of the Chamber of Advocates of Armenia and a certified mediator.
